Florida Tint Laws

Florida Window Tint Requirements

Florida law regulates how dark your tint can be. We ensure every installation is fully compliant. Here's what's allowed for passenger vehicles:

Windshield
Non-reflective tint on top 6 inches only
Front Side Windows
Must allow more than 28% VLT
Back Side Windows
Must allow more than 15% VLT
Rear Window
Must allow more than 15% VLT

Window Tinting FAQ

Florida law requires front side windows to allow more than 28% VLT, and rear side and back windows more than 15% VLT for passenger vehicles. For SUVs and vans, rear windows can be any darkness. We ensure every install is fully compliant.

We recommend waiting at least 3–5 days before rolling your windows down. This allows the adhesive to fully cure. Doing it too soon can cause the film to peel or shift at the edges.

No — our GeoShield films are non-metallic, so they won't interfere with GPS, cell service, satellite radio, or electronic toll systems. This is one of the key advantages of ceramic and carbon films over older metalized options.

Florida law only allows a non-reflective tint on the top 6 inches of the windshield. However, we can apply a clear ceramic film (70% VLT) across the entire windshield — it's nearly invisible but still blocks UV rays and reduces heat significantly.

Dyed film is the entry-level option — it provides privacy and basic UV blocking but limited heat rejection. Ceramic film uses nano-ceramic particles to block up to 96% of infrared heat without affecting visibility or electronics. Ceramic stays cooler, looks better long-term, and carries a lifetime warranty.

Yes — our GeoShield ceramic and dual ceramic films come with a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, fading, and delamination. We also back our installation workmanship, so if anything goes wrong, we'll make it right at no charge.
